This book is an exposition of the Beatitudes from the Sermon On the Mount. A separate chapter is devoted to each beatitude. (“Blessed are the poor in spirit…those who mourn…the meek…those who hunger and thirst for righteousness…the merciful…the pure in heart…the peacemakers…those who have been persecuted.”) These messages are simple, yet inexhaustibly wise.
